Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy called on Italian tourism businesses to intensify investing in Viet Nam at a conference held in Rome on Mar. 21. At the conference, entitled "Tourism - A Driving Force of Peace", Ambassador Nguyen Van Nam stressed that Viet Nam, with a young population, a diversed coultre and scores of places of scenic beauty, will bring in many opportunities for international businesses and investors. The event drew representatives from leading Italian and European travel agencies, including Chairman of the Universal Federation of Travel Agents Association, Joe Borg Oliver. The conference was held in anticipation of an international tourism fair slated for Mar. 22-24 in Rome with the participation of 1,200 tourism businesses and more than 4,000 travel companies from across the world.
