Sofitel Metropole Hanoi hotel has been selected for the title "One of the world's best hotels" in 2007 by the US magazine "Travel & Leisure".

The hotel was among 500 hotels selected as the best in the world because of its harmonious combination of modern, luxurious facilities in a French-colonial style.

In 2003, Sofitel Metropole Hanoi was the first hotel in Vietnam to enter the magazine's list of best hotels.

It is a French style hotel in the heart of Hanoi near Hoan Kiem Lake and the magnificent Opera House.

Originally built in 1901 by two private French investors, the grande dame Metropole has been a celebrated landmark of Hanoi for more than a century and has always proved a popular choice with business and leisure travellers.
