The State will pour 1.5 billion USD into the construction of tourism infrastructure from now until 2010, said a recent conference in the former imperial city of Hue.

Top priorities will be given to projects in localities with popular tourism destinations, the central and central highlands regions and tourism sites in remote and disadvantaged areas.
As many as 208 tourism infrastructure projects were carried out from 2001-05 in 62 provinces and cities at a total cost of 2.1 trillion VND (134.9 million USD). Around 155 projects have been operational.
