ImageThe southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City received nearly 280,000 foreign visitors in the first month of 2007, an increase of 16.4 percent over the same period last year.

Many of the foreign travellers came from the United States, Japan, Chinese Taiwan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, China, France, Singapore, Malaysia and Canada, which are the city’s top ten markets for tourism.
The number of overseas Vietnamese visiting Ho Chi Minh City in January was 82,800 and expected to increase to 120,000 by Feb. 15.
To prepare for the approaching traditional Lunar New Year festival, the city’s travel companies are offering new tours for foreign holidaymakers during the festive period, including tours especially designed for overseas Vietnamese by Saigontourist.
