A group of entrepreneurs from Yunnan province, China, on July 20 paid a working visit to the Mekong delta province of Tien Giang to investigate the local tourism potential.
The hosts introduced potentials of the local trade and tourism industries and projects, which need investment. Tran Thanh Trung, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, said that the province's authorities encourage businesses of the two provinces to exchange information on tourism destinations, programmes, and new tourism products in the future. The Chinese entrepreneurs asked Tien Giang businesses to hold more tours with more traditional characteristics, and eco-tours to the Mekong delta to meet the demands of Chinese tourists. The province has so far this year welcomed nearly 50,000 tourists, including 27,000 foreign tourists. Of them, over 10,000 were Chinese. (Source: VNA) |
