The National Administration of Tourism in coordination with the Transport Ministry has asked the government to allow the Bo Y International Border Gate in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum to be opened to caravans.

If the opening of Bo Y border gate to Cambodia and Laos is authorised, a large number of tourists from Thailand and other neighbouring countries will travel to the Central Highlands, said Mr Vu The Binh, Director of the Travel Department, the National Administration of Tourism.
Bo Y is the largest border gate in the Central Highlands and located in T-junction of borders shared by Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
So far, caravans have been only permitted to pass Lao Bao border gate in Quang Tri province and Cau Treo border gate in Ha Tinh province into Vietnam.
