The Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) announced it had been authorised to appoint contractors for officially-approved tourism promotion and consulting service projects valued at up to 500 million VND (31,250 USD).

Larger projects would require the head of VNAT to suggest contractors for subsequent approval by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the prime minister.
The new policy is necessary due to a lack of ordinance to implement the Law on Tender, which had been hindering the country from hiring international tourism consultants, said VNAT
