ImageAiming to attract foreign and domestic tourists during low season, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Vietnam Airlines, has launched a campaign entitled "Impressive Vietnam's Grand Sale 2010" in some big cities and major tourism centers in Vietnam.

The campaign will take place in August and September 2010 and attract the participation of supermarkets, shopping centers, handicraft and art shops, tourist sites, hotels, and restaurants.

During the campaign, localities will conduct numerous activities to boost travel in combination with shopping such as: organizing shopping streets, handicraft and art streets, and food streets in the three big cities of Hanoi, Danang, and Ho Chi Minh City and the Impressive Viet Nam Grand Sale Fair 2010.

Moreover, the campaign will also offer tourists privilege cards and shopping coupons that will be licensed for tourists by supermarkets, restaurants and hotels when they show their passports or identity cards.

Travel in combination with shopping is developing rapidly. Revenue from shopping by tourists is key to the tourism sector of Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. These countries were very successful in organizing sale campaigns over the past decade.
