The number of foreign tourists in 2009 was estimated at 3.8 million, dropping by 11.54 percent against 2008 whereas that of domestic tourists increased by 19 percent to 25 million sharply.
In the field of tourism industry, there were 31 new projects with registered investment capital of over $4.979 billion, eight projects registered for supplementing capital by $3.8 billion, raising the total investment capital for these projects to additional $8.8 billion, counting for 44.7 percent of the total FDI capital in Vietnam.












Vietnam reported to gain total revenue from tourism industry of 68-70 trillion dong for the whole year of 2009, an increase by 10 percent year-on-year. This figure was released in the annual meeting held in Da Nang City on December 28.
