A cultural week featuring the Khmer people’s Occ-om-boc-Dua ghe ngo festival opened in the southern province of Soc Trang on Nov. 6. The festival is co-organised by the provincial People’s Committee and the Steering Committee of Mekong- Can Tho National Tourism Year.
The festival’s profile will be raised to a national level in the near future and is considered as one of the three major tourism events that make up the Mekong- Can Tho National Tourism Year.
This year’s event includes traditional Khmer celebrations, a mass variety performance and special performances by art troupes from other provinces.
High on the agenda at the event is an exhibition showcasing handicraft products from the locality and a large fair featuring 250 stalls highlighting a number of socio-economic achievements that pay testament to the strength and massive potential of the area. (Source: VNA) |
