ImageA cultural festival entitled “Discovering Vietnam’s beauty through ‘ao dai’ (long dress) and food” took place in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, India on Oct. 17.

Representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in India and the JNU Managing Board, and Vietnamese, Indian and other foreign students from universities in New Delhi attended the cultural event, which was organised by the Association of Vietnamese Students in India with assistance from the Vietnamese Embassy.

The attendants were impressed by the show of ‘ao dai’ (Vietnamese women’s traditional long dress) by Vietnamese students. They also enjoyed Vietnamese traditional food and drink such as fried meat rolls, square glutinous rice cakes, noodle soup and green tea.

This was the first Vietnamese cultural festival held by the Vietnamese Students’ Association in New Delhi. The event is expected to strengthen ties between Vietnamese and other students studying in India.
