ImageA seminar was held on October 11 by the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology and northern Thanh Hoa province to catalogue the archaeological relics of Con Moong cave which has been nominated for recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Con Moong cave was discovered in 1975 and is now located in the buffer zone of the Cuc Phuong National Park in Thach Thanh district, Thanh Hoa province.

Relics 7,000-13,000 years old have been excavated from this cave.

The most outstanding value of the site discovered for the first time is the geographical layer bearing traces of the consecutive stages of human development from hunting to gathering and farming through the prehistoric and stone ages.
