The central Thua Thien-Hue province said it is carrying out a project to promote local community’s involvement in the preservation of heritages in the former city of Hue with funding from the French region of Nord Pas de Calais.
The project is valued at 20,250 Euro, including 13,650 Euro granted by the French region, and the remainder is sourced from the Hue Relics Preservation Centre.
Local young volunteers will act as the nucleus of the project as they will be equipped with knowledge on the heritage law and Hue relics through experts’ lectures and fact-finding tours and then pass on the information to people around them.
Available documents on the existing heritages will be gathered to produce publications and then introduced to the community through various forms such as calendars, radio broadcasts and newspapers.
In collaboration with Japan’s Waseda University, the eight-month project will also conduct research on architectural works in the Hue citadel. (Source: VNA) |
