Can Tho saw a strong increase in the number of tourists in the first four months of 2008, promising a successful national tourism year for the southern City.
 
 According to the Can Tho Tourism Department, travel companies greeted 105,000 tourists for over-night stay in April,

raising the figure in the first four months this year to 265,611 tourists, an increase of 37 percent on year, including 75,600 foreigners, an increase of 36 percent on year. Tourism turnover reached an estimated 159.2 billion VND, an increase of 37 percent on year.

Aiming to put on a successful national tourism year, together with promoting and advertising tourism products, Can Tho City must focus on protecting its environment.
