This was announced by Mr. Nguyen Huy, Head of the management board for tourism areas in Quang Ngai Province.

According to Mr. Huy, after the first phase of the GMS sustainable tourism development project in An Giang and Kien Giang provinces ends, ADB will continue to fund the second phase for the five provinces in May.

Quang Tri province was financed with 1,698 million USD, including 425,000 USD for poverty reduction and 1,211 million USD for tourism development on the East – West economic corridor.

ADB also funded 1.7 million USD to build infrastructure for the Cua Viet – Cua Tung maritime ecology tourism project in Quang Tri.

The GMS sustainable tourism development project is a part of the common development strategy of the six GMS countries, financed by ADB. It mainly prioritizes Vietnam and Laos to promote favorable transport on the East – West economic corridor, tap natural resource potential, develop commerce and tourism and reduce poverty.
