ImageAs many as 15,000 domestic and foreign tourists flocked to Hoi An ancient town in the central province of Quang Nam on February 20 to pray for good luck.

All local entertainment areas were open to the public on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month of Vietnam’s New Year festival. Besides chess and calligraphy, visitors had the opportunity to hear poems, folk songs and love songs and to drop flowers garlands and coloured lanterns on the Hoai river.
Hoi An’s old quarter was reportedly overcrowded by large crowds of young people wishing to visit the Phuoc Kien communal house.
The number of visitors to pagodas in Hoi An on the fifteenth of the first lunar month (February 21) would be much higher.
