The Prime Minister on December 31 gave the go-ahead to a project promoting ecotourism in northern mountainous Lao Cai province and enhancing managing capacity for the Hoang Lien National Park .

The project has a total investment capital of 2.06 million EUR, to which the French Agency for Development (AFD) will contribute 1.79 million EUR in non-refundable aid through its Trade Capacity Enhancement Fund (0.9 million EUR) and French Global Environment Fund (0.89 million EUR).

Lao Cai province will spend the remaining 0.27 million EUR from its budget to carry out the project.
