ImageConstruction began on the Saigon Sunbay Sea Tourism Urban Project on December 13 in the Long Hoa Commune of Can Gio district, 50km south east of Ho Chi Minh City .

The 526 million USD project will cover an area of 600ha, of which 200ha is set aside for a beach. The remaining 400ha will be developed into tourist facilities and infrastructure as well as luxury residential areas.

To date, it is the biggest construction project in Viet Nam to utilise modern sea encroachment technology.

Sea encroachment and the construction of facilities is expected to start within five years, other works are slated to finish in 2016.

The project will accommodate 33,000 residents and tourists in four areas: HeartBay, LifeBay, EcoBay and BlueBay.

As part of the development of eco-tourism in Ho Chi Minh City , the project takes full advantage of the district’s ecology system.
