Vietnam has great prospect to attract MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) tourists when tourism infrastructure has been improved and Vietnam’s controlling ability to organise MICE has been acknowledged. Nhan Dan Online reporter had an interview with Pham Huu Minh, director of the Tourism Promotion Department, the National Administration of Tourism, about the MICE prospect of Vietnam.

There are about 6,000 hotels and tourist accommodations with nearly 123,000 rooms, including 2,575 hotels recognised from two to five star hotels. Eighty percent of the hotels are located in some big tourism centres such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Haiphong city, Quang Ninh province, Hue city, Da Nang city, Quang Nam province, Khanh Hoa province, Binh Thuan province and Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.

Over the past years, the tourism sector has made strong development and gradually integrated into the global tourism development process. The position of the Vietnamese tourism has been confirmed and raised.

The tourism sector of Hanoi has completed its preparatory work to welcome delegations to the APEC summit due to take place in Hanoi in mid-November and serve tourists to the city during the time.
