Bay Mau Coconut Village in Cam Thanh Commune, Hoi An City, has been
recognized as a tourist destination by Quang Nam Province’s Department of
Culture, Sports and Tourism. The village is well-known for being an
important historical relic as well as a craft village where many houses are
built from coconut leaves. 
CNN will broadcast a video clip
advertising Vietnamese tourism later this year. The clip, which cost 5.3
billion dong or $277,000 to broadcast on CNN, will air in the third or
fourth quarter as part of a $2.1 million tourism promotion program for 2010,
but details about the frequency of the broadcast have not been revealed.
A recent
survey suggests that the Great Recession brought a shift in the preferences of
hotel customers here that may persist though the economy’s again expanding
strongly.
Ho Chi Minh City sets a
target of hosting four million of foreign arrivals, helping the
country’s largest economic and commercial hub rake in 60,000 billion
VND (3.15 billion USD) from the tourism by 2015, said a city
