 Traditional quan ho (folk love duet) melodies have become available online thanks to a group of students from Bac Ninh province, the birthplace of this singing style.
Work to bring the songs to a wider audience are part of the country’s efforts to get quan ho recognised as intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO.

Tourism Administration tells travel agents to avoid A/H1N1-infected countries |

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) has asked local tourism firms to reduce the number of tours to or temporarily stop sending tourists to countries where the super flu is spreading under the warning of the Vietnamese Health Ministry and the World Health Organization (WHO). |

Travel firms trying to stimulate demand with lower tour fees |

 Domestic overland tours have seen fees decrease by 15-20 percent, while airway tours have seen fees down by 30 percent.
Anticipating sharp falls in the numbers of travellers in groups and delegations this year as businesses, facing financial difficulties, try to cut expenses, travel firms have shifted to focus on individual and family clients. In order to lure more clients, travel firms have been trying to offer more impressive destinations on their tour itineraries and accept lower profit.
