Having few customers, a lot of 5-star hotels and resorts have decided to slash service fees or offer discounts. Returning from a 4-day trip to Nha Trang city, Nga in the Dinh Cong new urban area in Hanoi related that her big family had a wonderful holiday there for a very good price. Her family, comprising 24 members, booked rooms at Vinpearl at $125 per night only from June 3 to 6, nearly a 50 percent decrease in comparison with the previous rate of $200 per night.

Vietnam has won 11 out of 40 prizes at the 15th International Photo Contest in Macau, China. Four of the 11 prizes won by Vietnam belonged to Photographer Vuong Quoc Kim from Dak Lak. He won the FIAP silver medal, the best black and white photo collection award,  silver trophy for black and white photos and bronze trophy for the colour photo named ‘Dang Xuan’ (Spring Figure).

Phuoc Tich ancient village in the central province of Thua Thien Hue’s Phong Dien district has been recognised as a national art architecture relic by the State. The village, established in the 15th century during the early part of the Le Dynasty, was known as Dong Quyet. This was later changed to Phuoc Giang and Hoang Giang before it took its present name under the Nguyen Dynasty (1802 to 1945).
